Man arrested and taken to hospital following death of woman in Hoppers Crossing

A man has been apprehended following the death of a woman in Melbourne's west.

Officers cordoned off parts of Grevillea Crescent in Hoppers Crossing on Thursday after police discovered an unresponsive woman at a nearby property.

The woman, who is yet to be identified, died at the scene.

Authorities said a man behaving erratically nearby was arrested and taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police are not looking for anyone else in relation to the death, and it is believed the man and woman were known to each other.
